FAQ
  Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my UniGene cluster id return multiple Ensembl clusters?
A: There is not a one-to-one relationship between Ensembl and UniGene clusters (explained here). For example Hs.57301 corresponds to ENSG00000121716 and ENSG00000137309. Both of these Ensembl clusters will be displayed in the search results:

By default, ASG displays the first match it finds (in this case ENSG00000121716).
Q: Why don't I get any results for my favorite mouse/nematode/Arabidopsis gene id?
A: At the present time, ASG contains only human genes.
Q: Why did I not get any results for the search string "UniGene: Hs.13804"?
A: Do not include the word Unigene, just Hs.13804
Q: I don't know any identifiers for my gene, only the name. Where can I find its ID?
A: Because ASG is keyed by Ensembl clusters, your best bet is to try a gene search at http://www.ensembl.org/
