| Q: |
Why does my UniGene cluster id return multiple Ensembl
clusters? |
| A: |
There is not a one-to-one relationship between
Ensembl and UniGene clusters (explained
here). For example Hs.57301 corresponds
to ENSG00000121716 and ENSG00000137309.
Both of these Ensembl clusters will be displayed
in the search results:
By default, ASG displays the first match it finds (in this case ENSG00000121716). |
| Q: |
Why don't I get any results for my
favorite mouse/nematode/Arabidopsis gene id? |
| A: |
At the present time, ASG contains
only human genes. |
| Q: |
Why did I not get any results for
the search string "UniGene: Hs.13804"? |
| A: |
Do not include the word Unigene,
just Hs.13804 |
| Q: |
I don't know any identifiers for
my gene, only the name. Where can I find its ID? |
| A: |
Because ASG is keyed by Ensembl clusters,
your best bet is to try a gene search at http://www.ensembl.org/
