For Monday January 14, read Sections 2.1, 2.2 , and 2.3 (up to "Local Alignment: Smith-Waterman algorithm") from the text by Durbin et al.

For Wednesday January 16, read Sections 3.1 and 3.2 of text by Durbin et al.

I did not assign reading on dynamic programming variations for sequence alignment but if you want to supplement the lecture material, you can read pages 22-24 ("Local alignment:Smith-Waterman") and pages 28-32 (Section 2.4, "Dynamic programming with more complex models") from text by Durbin et al.

For Wednesday February 13, read Sections 5.1-5.5 of text by Durbin et al. and part of Section 5.6 (you can stop after reading "Dirichlet mixtures" subsection)

For Monday February 18, read Sections 6.2-6.4 of text by Durbin et al.
